Indiana Fever React to Dawn Staley’s MVP Prediction for Star Player

Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston

The Indiana Fever have two core players they are building around: guard Caitlin Clark and forward Aliyah Boston.

Clark has been impressive in her first two seasons in the WNBA, despite her second year being cut short due to injuries. The former Iowa superstar has averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.4 steals in 53 games so far in her career.

Meanwhile, Boston has averaged 15.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game in three years in the WNBA. She was an All-Star in each of those seasons and was selected into the All-WNBA Second Team and All-Defensive Second Team last campaign.

Both players have certainly shown that they will be a dominant force in the WNBA for the years to come. However, considering what Boston has accomplished so far, her former coach with the South Carolina Gamecocks, Dawn Staley, believes she can be so much more.

“I think she’s on her way to being the [WNBA] MVP because she works extremely hard at her craft,” Staley shared.

For what it’s worth, the Fever are certainly proud of Boston and the work she has put in to improve herself. That much is clear as the team shared Staley’s prediction and wrote, “putting in work.”

Only time will tell if Staley’s prediction will come true, but considering that Boston is only 23 years old, she’s definitely on track to becoming a major force in the WNBA.
