Lionel Messi had another big year in Major League Soccer (MLS). He played in 28 matches in the 2025 regular season, tallying 29 goals and 16 assists.
With Messi leading the way, Inter Miami CF reached the MLS playoffs, even beating Nashville SC in their Round 1 series to give the club its first playoff series win in history. It’s worth noting that the Argentine sensation scored a brace and had one assist as the Herons won 4-0 in Game 3 of the best-of-three series.
As Messi dominates on the field, however, he also continues to make waves off it — even amid the postseason.
In fact, amid the break as Inter Miami await their next MLS match, the 38-year-old forward announced an off-field update.
On Thursday, Messi revealed that he has renewed his partnership with the soccer memorabilia brand, Icons. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner has been in a partnership with the company since 2006, and they have reached an extension to keep their alliance going.
“After so many years working with Icons, we are pleased to begin a new stage in our partnership, introducing a higher level of authenticity to further enhance the experience for memorabilia collectors,” Messi said in a statement announcing the contract extension, per Mundo Deportivo.
To commemorate the occasion, Messi also revealed on Instagram that he and Icons are giving away a “signed and framed special edition Argentina shirt,” a “signed and framed special edition FC Barcelona shirt,” and a “signed and framed special edition Inter Miami CF shirt.”
“To celebrate my exclusive partnership with @icons_memorabilia, I’m giving away three shirts from my official signed memorabilia collection — all of which are 100% authenticated with Icons’ new TripleLock technology!” Messi added.
