Indiana Fever Star Sophie Cunningham Announces Plan Away From WNBA

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham.

Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham is keeping herself busy this WNBA offseason.

Cunningham was a key contributor for Indiana in 2025, averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steal, all while shooting career highs 46.9% from the field and 43.2% from deep. Unfortunately, her season ended prematurely due to a torn MCL in her right knee that required surgery.

Despite her recovery extending into this offseason, that hasn’t stopped Cunningham from making the most of her break. Aside from continuing her “Show Me Something” podcast, she has also been actively fulfilling her off-court commitments, from attending the NASCAR Cup Championship at Phoenix Raceway to serving as Caitlin Clark’s caddy during the pro-am that precedes THE ANNIKA.

More recently, Cunningham announced that her “Sophie Cunningham Classic” will continue this year for its fourth edition.

“So, you guys know I do the Sophie Cunningham Classic every single year,” the Fever guard shared on her Instagram Stories. “It’s a high school girls’ basketball tournament. There is a lot of top-ranked teams in the United States, a lot of top-ranked players who are going to be at this Classic, so I’m super, super excited for that.”

The 29-year-old WNBA vet added that they “have a ton of new sponsors, a lot of fun gifts and opportunities there,” which is why she’s “stoked” about the event.

In a separate post, Cunningham revealed that the tournament will be held from Jan. 9 to 11 at Columbia, Missouri, her hometown. She also said that she will be present throughout the weekend, as she encouraged her fans and followers to come and show their support.

“So, I’m excited for it. It’s going to be so much fun. It’s bigger and better than ever. So, yeah, come hang out. Come see me. I’ll be around there all weekend.”

It will definitely be interesting to see if other Fever players will be present for the “Sophie Cunningham Classic.” Regardless, considering her popularity, the event should draw plenty of interest.
