NFL Announces Historic Josh Allen News After Steelers Game

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen walks on the tunnel.

Josh Allen not only led the Buffalo Bills to a win against Aaron Rodgers’ Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13 on Sunday, but he also made history in the process.

Allen threw for 123 yards and one touchdown on 15-of-23 passing to power the Bills to a 26-7 win. He also had a rushing touchdown after running with the ball eight times for 38 yards. Rodgers, meanwhile, failed to score a touchdown for Pittsburgh. Only running back Jaylen Warren was able to reach the end zone for the Steelers.

While it was Buffalo’s defense that really made it possible for the team to take the victory and improve to 8-4 on the season, the reigning NFL MVP certainly deserves recognition.

With his performance, the 29-year-old Allen surpassed Cam Newton for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in NFL history. He broke his tie with Newton, who had 75 rushing TDs in his 11-year NFL career, per NFL.

Allen now has 11 rushing touchdowns this season, and it’s unlikely he’s stopping any time soon. With five games left on the season, the three-time Pro Bowler has a chance to add more to his tally and further cement his status as one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks ever.

The Bills play the Cincinnati Bengals next, followed by showdowns with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets.

History aside, though, the Bills need to keep winning since they are currently seventh in the AFC standings. They can’t really afford to lose since they are only a game ahead of the Houston Texans for the final Wild Card spot.
