Historic Stat Highlights How Dangerous Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets Are

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic.

The Oklahoma City Thunder may be the hottest team in the NBA right now, having lost just once after 22 games played. However, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets might just be the most dangerous team offensively.

Against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, the Nuggets dominated for a 135-120 win. Jamal Murray erupted for 52 points in the win, shooting 19-of-25 from the field while adding six rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Murray joined Jokic and Aaron Gordon as Nuggets players to score 50 points this 2025-26 season. Gordon first achieved it for Denver in their season opener when he dropped 50 points against the Golden State Warriors.

Jokic, for his part, achieved the statistical milestone against the Los Angeles Clippers in November. He scored 55 points, along with 12 rebounds and six assists.

Now, according to the NBA, it is the first time in league history that three teammates have each scored at least 50 points in the first 21 games of the season.

The Nuggets improved to 15-6 on the season with their latest win, placing them at No. 5 in the Western Conference standings.

More than that, however, the Nuggets are certainly showing that they are a team not only reliant on Jokic. The 30-year-old Serbian center may be their best player, but Murray and Gordon have proven that they can also help carry the offensive load for Denver.

Making the Nuggets scarier is the fact that it’s still early in the season. Considering how well their top three players are doing, they should only become more dangerous as the season progresses.
