Lions QB Jared Goff Mentions Being Drug Tested After Beating Cowboys

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff reacts during a game.

After losing to the Green Bay Packers in Week 13, Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions bounced back in Week 14 by taking down the red-hot Dallas Cowboys led by quarterback Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys put up a great fight, even cutting the Lions’ lead down to three early in the fourth quarter. However, the Lions’ offense proved to be too much for a Dallas defense missing the services of Jadeveon Clowney.

In the end, the Lions secured a 44-30 victory. Jahmyr Gibbs was sensational with 43 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground, all while catching seven passes for 77 yards.

Goff, for his part, completed 25 of his 34 passes for one touchdown. He took care of the ball and didn’t throw an interception and was sacked just once.

Despite the win, though, Goff was surprisingly late to his postgame presser. Interestingly, when he arrived to talk to reporters, the 31-year-old QB suggested that he had been drug tested, which was the reason he was late.

“Sorry about that guys, NFL drug testing rules,” Goff stated, according to Eric Woodyard of ESPN.

It’s unknown if Goff was joking or not, but sure enough, his comments drew plenty of reactions.

“Oh god,” a commenter wrote. Another one said, “Wait what????”

“Oh nah y’all drug testing Goff,” a fan added.

A follower remarked, “Testing him for goat tranquilizer.”

Whatever the case may be, it shouldn’t prevent Goff and the Lions from celebrating an important win. They improved to 8-5 on the season and increased their chances of making the playoffs. They remain eighth in the NFC standings, albeit just one game behind the seventh-seeded San Francisco 49ers.
