The Atlanta Falcons took down the Los Angeles Rams in a thrilling “Monday Night Football” showdown, with running back Bijan Robinson leading the way en route to a 27-24 victory.
Robinson played one of the best games of his young NFL career as he starred for Atlanta to secure a statement victory. The Falcons running back rushed for 195 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries, while also adding five receptions for 34 yards and another score through the air.
Overall, Robinson finished with 229 yards from scrimmage, which is a career-high for the 2023 first-round draft pick.
His biggest moment came late in the second quarter, when Robinson broke free for a 93-yard touchdown run with under two minutes remaining. The explosive play pushed Atlanta’s lead to 21-0 and immediately energized the home crowd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
It’s also worth noting that the incredible run set a record for the longest rushing touchdown in franchise history.
NFL Reacts to Bijan Robinson’s Big Game for Falcons
Following Robinson’s performance, the NFL took notice. The league shared a highlight reel of the Atlanta RB on social media, writing in the caption, “The definition of a human highlight reel @bijan_robinson.”
Robinson is currently in the third year of his rookie deal, a four-year, $21.9 million contract. Sure enough, he has far exceeded what the Falcons are paying him, as he continues to look like a foundational piece for Atlanta’s offense moving forward.
With the win, Atlanta improved to 7–9 on the season. While Raheem Morris’ squad has already been eliminated from playoff contention, the team still has an opportunity to finish the year on a positive note.
The Falcons will close out the regular season against the New Orleans Saints, looking to build momentum and end the year in style behind their dynamic young star.
