Former MMA star Daniel Cormier held nothing back with his comments on Jon Jones. Cormier made a bold comment about Jones’ body. It all started when Jones went viral after a video about his hip arthritis got leaked online. The former UFC champion agreed that he suffered from hip issues, and he also stated that he could retire.
However, he never hesitated to call out the person who leaked his video. There’s no secret that Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones were rivals. After the leaked video, Cormier took a shot at his former rival on his YouTube channel. He mentioned that the video was not leaked. He called out Jones for trying to make the public aware of his story.
“I believe Jon Jones is hurt, and I believe Jon Jones really is dealing with injuries from a long sustained career in combat sports.” Daniel Comier said.
He further stated that he was aware of Jones’ injury when he tried to cover Dwight Howard in a celebrity game.
“That was the video that made me believe that Jon Jones doesn’t have anything left, in that regard. There will be no wrestling match between him and I. Daniel Comier said. “It will be too hard for him to compete in a wrestling match…his body will not hold up in training to prepare for a wrestling match. So I think that people should now start to get ready for a day where they don’t have Jones in fighting. I don’t think you are going him much longer in this sport because I don’t think the guy’s body is going to hold up.”
Daniel Cormier Expresses Concern Over Justin Gaethje’s Interim Belt
Cormier has been pretty active when it comes to speaking about the UFC on his YouTube Channel. Recently, the former legend expressed his concern over Justin Gaethje’s interim belt.
Gaethje’s interim belt is the only one held by a male American fighter, and Daniel Cormier cannot help but be worried about the current situation.
“Justin Gaethje now is the interim champion. It’s the only belt we have on American males,” Cormier said.
He also mentioned that there are no Americans in the top 10 pound-for-pound.
“We don’t have an American in the top 10 pound for pound in any weight,” Daniel Cormier said.
