Real Madrid and F.C. Benfica will kick off at the UEFA Champions League playoffs, and Alvaro Arbeloa wants to eliminate his opponent. Despite an all the best message ahead of the game, Arbeloa sent a warning to Jose Mourinho and his team.

After a 4-2 loss against Benfica in January, Arbeloa wants to have his revenge. Mourinho’s team avoided elimination.

“If I invite him, it will be someday for lunch; he doesn’t need to sit on the grey sofa. We are good friends, we always wish each other the best, and we have a great relationship. The only thing I can tell you is that I always wish José the best. My goal is to eliminate Benfica. From there, I wish him and his family all the best,” Alvaro Arbeloa said.

Arbeloa is prepared to take on Benfica. He mentioned that his goal is always focused on football, and they have to play well with concentration.

“Our approach is always football-focused, as I believe that’s how things need to be done. To win the game, we have to play very good football, and to play very good football, you have to do many things well in all phases of the game. We need to play 90 minutes with maximum concentration,” Alvaro Arbeloa said.

Alvaro Arbeloa Says Players’ Positive Attitude Has Helped The Team

Arbeloa had plenty to fix, but he gave a lot of credit to his players for staying positive. He mentioned that coaching was easy, but a player’s job is more difficult.

“I don’t know… I don’t think in terms of percentages. Since I arrived, I’ve seen a very positive attitude from all the players, and that’s been key. In football, it’s much easier to be a coach than a player because it’s easier to say what needs to be done than to actually do it. So, a large part of the credit has to go to the players themselves, to their effort and hard work,” Alvaro Arbeloa said.

“Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni, and Guler are doing a fantastic job, and I don’t need to tell them anything new. They’re doing well, like everyone else. When a team is solid, it’s because of the work of ten players,” Arbeloa continued.

It’s going to be a great game between both teams, and Arbeloa hopes to secure a win against Jose Mourinho’s Benfica.
