Ronda Rousey is not done fighting. A comeback from retirement is on the edge, as she has already picked her opponent. Rousey is ready to exchange fists against Gina Carano, and Cris Cyborg had to have her say.
Rousey and Carano will face off in a five-round Featherweight battle that will take place in May. The event is set and will be broadcast live on Netflix. It’s been 10 years since Rousey stepped into the ring. Her last bout was against Amanda Nunes back in 2016. Since then, she’s stayed out and hopes to bounce back from her first-round knockout against Nunes.
Carana’s last outing was against Cris Cyborg back in 2009, where she lost as well via first-round knockout. It’s not secure that Ronda Rousey had struggled with injuries after fighting for a long time. MMA fans were surprised to learn that Rousey is coming back from retirement.
Cris Cyborg was one among many to be surprised. After revealing her fight against Carano, Cyborg took to social media to react.
“All those years of ducking me at 145 [pounds] when we were both in our prime?! I thought you had CTE or something?” Cyborg asked.
Matt Brown Is Also Surprised, Like Cris Cyborg
Cyborg was not the only one to react. UFC icon Matt Brown was also surprised by the same.
“This is so random. When did these two compete last?? It’s cool, I hope they make some money, but I really just want to see MMA become more of a sport and less of just entertainment. But I’m a negative Nancy, I guess because I want to see real competition,” Brown said.
Ronda Rousey is excited and thrilled to clash against Carano. Rousey shared a post about the fight, which is set to take place at Intuit Dome. She called it the biggest superfight in women’s combat sports history.

Cris Cyborg is eagerly awaiting the bout, along with many MMA fans. The clock is ticking, as the battle is not far off.
