Oscar De La Hoya was unhappy with Dana White and made sure to give him a piece of his mind. It’s not the first time Hoya slammed White. It all started when Hoya criticized White’s boxing promotion company, “Zuffa Boxing.” In return, White fired Hoya and questioned his company.
White criticized Hoya, saying that he talks sh*t. He emphasized why he hasn’t been doing his famous “Clapback Thursdays.”
“They don’t stop talking, the WBC and Eddie Hearn and all this sh*t that De La Hoya talks. We all know he’s f*cking mentally ill. The guy’s talking all this sh*t and his place is in foreclosure. He’s suing his fighters to try to stay with him. Has he done a ‘Clapback Thursday’ recently? I would f*cking love to see an episode of ‘Clapback Thursday’ this Thursday from Oscar De La Hoya.” Dana White said.
While both slammed each other openly, Hoya recently escalated the feud after posting a video on Instagram. De La Hoya hit back with profanity, saying he was telling facts.
“You call people mentally ill when they don’t agree with you, but guess what, motherf**ker: We’re just telling the facts. I have never in my entire life seen someone truly believe they’re actually killing it while they’re actually doing jack sh*t,” Hoya said.
Oscar De La Hoya Continued To Slam Dana White And His Boxing Company
Hoya was clearly frustrated as he called Dana White’s boxing company a failed science project. He even stated that the fighters in the academy are at the tail end of their careers.
“Zuffa (Boxing) is officially a failed science project… Zuffa is filled with fighters on the tail end of their careers or who just can’t make it at the highest level. And if they do get some big names at Zuffa, it would only be because they’re donated from Turki. They’re basically hosting club shows in the basement of UFC in front of 50 people. They strip fighters of all their individuality, making them wear nasty generic shorts to blend in for the sake of the product. They make it impossible for fighters to grow their own brands,” Oscar De La Hoya continued his rant.
Dana Brown is expected to share his response as well and this seems to have no end. Hoya was not the only one to criticize Zuffa Boxing. British sports promoter Eddie Hearn was also one to criticize his academy.
