“Truly the GOAT”: NBA Fans React to Steph Curry Breaking Michael Jordan Record

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry and NBA legend Michael Jordan.

Steph Curry missed the Golden State Warriors’ previous five games due to a left quad injury. He returned against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, and it certainly didn’t look like he was coming from a 16-day absence.

Curry, who last played on Nov. 26, exploded for 39 points in the Warriors’ 127-120 loss to the Timberwolves.

The 37-year-old guard showed no signs of rust, as he shot 14-of-28 from the field (including 6-of-15 from the 3-point line). Curry also had five rebounds and five assists in 32 minutes of action, showing everyone how dangerous he is.

To make it even better, Curry made history in the process. According to the NBA, the performance marked Curry’s 94th 30-point game since he turned 30 years old, surpassing Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan for the record.

“HISTORY FOR STEPHEN CURRY IN HIS RETURN!” the NBA stated. “Tonight marks Steph’s 94th 35-PT game since turning 30… That’s now THE MOST IN NBA HISTORY, passing Michael Jordan’s 93.”

Steph Curry’s Explosion Leaves Fans in Awe

Naturally, fans were hyped for Curry, with many even declaring he’s the greatest player ever or that he should be in the GOAT (greatest of all time) conversation.

“Truly the GOAT,” a fan said. Another one added, “The greatest of all time.”

“The GOAT has RISEN!” a poster added.

A fan remarked, “The King of 3s just broke another record! Passing MJ is insane.”

“He should be in the Goat discussions too. He had an impact on the way of playing basketball with his 3 ball,” a supporter stated.

With the way Curry is playing, he’s certainly not done yet adding to his 30-point record. The Warriors return to action on Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers, which should be another opportunity for the two-time MVP to make history.
