Steph Curry’s First Post After Warriors Return Says a Lot

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry during the All-Star Game.

Steph Curry made his return to the Golden State Warriors after a five-game absence against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Unfortunately, his big night was spoiled, as the Dubs lost 127-120.

The 37-year-old guard exploded for 39 points on 14-of-28 shooting, including 6-of-15 from deep. He also had five rebounds and five assists, looking nowhere close to a player who was coming off a 16-day absence due to a quad injury.

The two-time NBA MVP even made history, as he surpassed Michael Jordan for the most 30-point games since turning 30 years old. Curry now has 94, while Jordan had 93.

However, the Timberwolves were simply too much for the Warriors, even though Minnesota was missing its star player in Anthony Edwards. Three players breached the 20-point mark for the Wolves, led by Julius Randle who had 27 points on top of nine rebounds and six assists.

Rudy Gobert added 24 points and 14 boards, while Donte DiVincenzo had 21 points.

Despite the loss, Curry was still thankful that he’s able to get back to full health after a long spell on the sidelines. He admitted that it wasn’t the result he was hoping for, but he’s focusing on what’s next and helping Golden State bounce back.

“Not how we wanted the night to go but good to be back on the floor with the guys! Onward,” Curry wrote on X, along with several photos from the game.

Warriors Have Hope With Steph Curry Back

While the Warriors would have wanted the win in order to improve their Western Conference standing — they dropped to 13-13 on the season with the loss — Curry’s return is certainly a massive boost.

With their best player back, the Warriors have a chance to climb their way to the top of the West and show everyone how dangerous they are when fully healthy.

The Warriors play the Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns (twice), Orlando Magic and Dallas Mavericks in their next five games.
