Paul Skenes may have just wrapped up a standout 2025 MLB season, but the Pittsburgh Pirates star is now making waves for a reason that has nothing to do with his pitching.
Despite finishing last in the National League Central division, Pittsburgh found a clear silver lining in Skenes. The 23-year-old pitcher was dominant throughout the year, posting a 1.97 ERA over 32 starts while striking out 216 batters. His efforts earned him his first-ever NL Cy Young Award, easily the biggest highlight of a 71-91 campaign for the Pirates.
Now enjoying his offseason, Skenes has gone viral again, this time because of a change in his appearance.
Livvy Dunne Reveals Paul Skenes’ New Look
Known for sporting a beard and mustache since his first MLB start in 2024, Skenes recently debuted a clean-shaven look. The reveal came courtesy of his girlfriend, influencer and former LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, who has been sharing moments from their offseason together.
Dunne first showed off the look during their New Year’s celebration and followed it up on Friday with another post featuring Skenes’ fresh face.
“What a sight to see,” she wrote in the caption, paired with a playful video using audio that says, “she’s bald!”
The post quickly caught the attention of fans, who flooded the comments section with reactions—many of them passionate.
“LOL!!! I’m so on board with NO facial hair!!! Clearly, he is so handsome.. but, removing the facial hair was a fabulous choice!!” one fan wrote.
Another joked, “lol @paulskenes looks so young! My husband looks 14 when he shaves; I get looks.”
Some reactions were even more direct.
“Tell your man I want to have his baby,” one commenter said, while another added, “my opinion doesnt matter obviously but i like the no mustache look.”
Not everyone was fully sold, though.
“Put it back on,” a fan demanded, as another observed, “Paul looks 10 years younger.”
