Former football coach and NFL star Deion Sanders was one among many to mourn the passing of Dominiq Ponder. The entire football world was in shock after Ponder’s passing. Ponder passed away in a devastating, tragic car crash.

The University of Colorado deeply mourns the loss of its beloved Quarterback. Dominiq Ponder reportedly lost control of a Tesla Model 3 while driving in Boulder County. The QB was reported dead at the scene after the tragic event.

Deion Sanders took to social media to offer his words of comfort to the family. He talked about working with Ponder and called him a born leader.

“God please comfort the Ponder family, friends & Loved ones. Dom was one of my favorites! He was Loved, Respected & a Born Leader. Let’s pray for all that knew him & had the opportunity to be in his presence. Lord you’re receiving a good 1. Comfort us Lord Comfort us. #CoachPrime,” Deion Sanders wrote on X.

Football fans commented on Ponder’s passing, as many were upset. Fan also offered their condolences to the family.

Deion Sanders And Team Prepares To Honor Dominiq Ponder

Ponder’s passing hit hard as his college mates, teammates, friends and family still remain in huge shock. Sanders mentioned he was fortunate enough to work with Ponder. However, the coach wants to honor his star player throughout the season.

College football kicks off soon, and Deion Sanders’ squad is set to rock a special jersey patch saluting Ponder. Every player will sport it on the left side, which is just about the Nike logo.

Deion Sanders gave the following options for the jersey patch.

“A lowercase “dom,” an uppercase “DOM,” and “DP 7,” representing Ponder’s initials and jersey number.”

“It’s going to be what you guys want,” Sanders told his team.

It’s been a hard time for players to digest the fact. Sanders spoke highly of Dominiq Ponder, and the team will never forget his contribution. During their first practice session after Ponder’s passing, the entire team started to chant his name after every huddle.

Several teammates shed light on Ponder’s strong values. He was always the first in the quarterback room before sunrise. Hopefully, the Ponder family finds strength during this difficult time.
