Congratulations Pour In for Indiana Fever Star

Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White

Indiana Fever guard Aari McDonald joined the team in June on a hardship contract amid a slew of injuries to the roster. However, she quickly proved herself and earned a rest-of-season contract.

McDonald averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.3 steals for the Fever in 2025, all while shooting 42.9% from the field. Unfortunately, she ended up playing just 20 games for Indiana, as she suffered a season-ending foot injury in August.

Regardless, McDonald established herself as an important member of the franchise and earned the admiration of the Indiana faithful with her gritty attitude.

That being said, it’s no surprise that she received an outpouring of support on Friday after her college team, the Arizona Wildcats, held a special night in her honor.

After the Fever posted about the event on social media, fans took to the comment section of the post to congratulate her.

“SO well deserved,” the WNBA wrote on Instagram. A fan added, “Well deserved!”

“So cool, Ari!!” another commenter shared.

“Congrats and well deserved Aari” a supporter remarked.

A fifth commenter stated, “She so humble yet beautiful with some serious shoe game, unstoppable on the court Tucson loves Aari.”

McDonald is a free agent this offseason, and it remains to be seen if the Fever will bring her back. Indiana has only three players under contract in 2026 (Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Makayla Timpson), so the team will have plenty of decisions to make when it comes to their free agents.

Whatever happens, though, McDonald has made a great and lasting impact on the team, and fans will surely remember her for a long time.
