MLS Makes ‘Unreal’ Post About Lionel Messi Before East Final

Since joining Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami CF in 2023, Lionel Messi has been game-changing for the franchise and the league.

MLS’s popularity got a massive boost with Messi’s presence, and the Argentine star proved that he deserves the hype as he completely transformed Inter Miami into a contender.

This 2025 alone, Messi helped the Herons secure their first playoff series win in club history after taking down Nashville SC in Round 1. In the three-match battle, the former Barcelona forward recorded five goals and an assist.

In the MLS conference semifinals against FC Cincinnati, Messi scored one goal and recorded a hat-trick of assists to power Inter Miami to a 4-0 win and into the Eastern Conference final.

Now, ahead of Inter Miami’s showdown with New York City FC in the conference final, the MLS made sure to give Messi the credit he deserves for what he has done so far with his club and in the league.

“12 goal contributions so far in the @audiusa MLS Cup Playoffs. Unreal,” the MLS wrote on Instagram, along with a highlight reel of Messi. It’s worth noting that aside from his six goals and four assists in this year’s playoffs, Messi had one goal and an assist last postseason.

It remains to be seen if Messi can maintain his hot form, but sure enough, hopes are high that he’ll be able to lead the franchise in the final.

Messi had 29 goals and 16 assists during the regular season, and he has certainly not shown any sign of slowing down any time soon.
